A message from Principal Dorothy Daft

daft, welcome sign

I am Dorothy Daft and I have proudly served the Urbita community as the principal since December of 2022. Being born and raised in San Bernardino, I understand our community’s needs, strengths, and above all know how resilient and strong our community is as we support each other while our city continually rebuilds and grows.

As a former student, Classified employee, Certificated teacher, Program Specialist, and Vice Principal of the San Bernardino City Unified School District, I am so proud to represent and lead this community as we create true partnerships to support our students’ well-being and academic growth.

It is crucial that as a community, we work together to enhance our scholars’ learning experience and that our school provides the community with the tools they need to support our scholars. We hope to see many community members at our school events and hope that Urbita becomes the safe community place for our families to engage with one another.

My goal is to ensure all scholars, while here at Urbita, know that they are safe, loved, and valued as they learn the skills they need to be successful in the future. Our scholars will be held to the highest standards, will be pushed to greatness, and above all will have positive role models in their life that they can depend on.
